Separate the yolks from the egg whites. Whip the whites until stiff peaks have formed.
Beat together the yolks with sugar.
Combine the flour, cocoa powder and two tablespoons of the whipped egg whites.
Carefully fold in the rest of the egg whites.
Pour the cake batter in a buttered and floured, 6 inch-wide baking pan. Bake for about 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Combine the curd, powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and vanilla flavouring for the cream.
Add the gelatin fix.
Mix in the whipped cream.
Cut the sponge into three pieces. Spread the first layer with ⅓ of the cream.
Place the middle layer on top and spread with cream.
Place the third layer on top and cover the rest of the cake with the cream.
Decorate the cake.
