Have all your ingredients ready and let’s begin! First, combine flour with yeast and powdered sugar.
Grind the butter/margarine by hand.
Knead with egg yolks and milk.
For the poppy seed layer, cream butter/margarine with sugar.
Add flour, yeast and ground poppy seeds.
Add milk to the dollop.
Finally, add whipped egg whites.
Take half of the kneaded dough, flatten and place in a buttered pan.
Grease with jam.
Spread the poppy seed dollop on top.
Flatten the other half of the dough and place on top.
Bake for about 30 minutes on 360 degrees F.
