Whip up the egg whites, add a pinch of salt, vanilla sugar and the sugar to it.
Stir in the hot water, melted butter and the egg yolks one by one.
Mix the flour with the cornstarch and baking powder. Sift it into the base mixture. Mix everything until everything is fully incorporated.
Pour the batter into a buttered bundt baking pan. Bake it in a convection oven for approximately 35 minutes at 320°F. Then let it cool completely.
For the cream, make your vanilla pudding first and let it cool. Combine it with the butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. Make sure everything is well mixed.
Separate 6-7 tbsp of the cream, spooning it into a smaller bowl, this will be the cream you cover your cake with.
Slice up the wreath into 3 layers. Spread cherry jam on each layer as well as the buttercream. Stack the layers on each other.
Coat the whole wreath with the 6-7 tbsp of the cream you put aside.
Cover the wreath in slices of roasted almonds. Let it rest in the fridge overnight.
Cut it up the next day and serve!
