Start by making the semolina cream. Bring your milk to a boil and add the semolina to it. Allow it to come to a boil again, then take it off the heat a place aside.
For the cake base, mix together the dry ingredients in a bowl, then add the butter, honey and eggs to it.
Stir everything together, then incorporate the sour cream into the mixture as well.
Cut the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll out each into the same size and bake each cake layer for 8-10 minutes at 355°F.
After the semolina cream has cooled, blend in the butter, powdered sugar and vanilla sugar. Mix until smooth.
Now it’s time to create the cake itself. Place a cake layer in the bottom of your baking tin on which you spread half of the semolina cream. Then comes another cake layer on top of it on which you spread apricot jam.
Place a cake layer on the apricot jam and spread the remaining semolina cream over it. Finish it off by placing the last cake layer on the very top. Place it in the fridge and let it rest overnight.
Cut up the cake into cubes or slices and sprinkle powdered sugar over them. Then you’re ready to enjoy this tasty dessert!
