Chocolate Sponge Cake recipe: Preparing the Chocolate Sponge Cake is easy! First, combine the softened butter and sugar with a hand blender.
Add an egg while continuously stirring.
Mix together the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder in a bowl.
Add it to the egg mixture and add the other eggs and milk while stirring vigorously.
Split the batter in half, pour in buttered and floured cake tins. Preheat the oven and bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes.
When cooked, put the cakes on a cooling rack and let them cool down completely. When cooled down, spread jam over one sponge and stack one cake on the other.
Then add melted chocolate on top and let it cool down completely.
Beat water and icing sugar until lump-free, and criss-cross the top of the chocolate. Let it stiffen for a couple of minutes before serving.
