Whisk up the egg whites along with the powdered sugar, until stiff.
Add the egg yolks to it as well, one by one. Also pour in the water.
In a separate bowl, mix together the ground walnuts with the flour and baking powder. Then add it to the base mixture in smaller portions.
When everything is mixed well, pour it into a baking tin which is already lined with baking paper. Bake for 50 minutes at 355°F. Then let it cool completely.
For the cream, whisk together the eggs and the sugar until fluffy. Then also add 3 tbsp of freshly made coffee.
Whisk it over low heat until it thickens (this should be about 20 minutes).
Take it off the heat. Mix in the room temperature butter into the cream, then let it cool completely.
Cut the cake into three layers and spread the cream in between the layers before stacking them on each other.
Cover the whole cake with the remaining cream. Using your fork, you can draw circles on the top of the cake.
Decorate it with walnuts and it’s ready to serve!
