Sift the flour, powdered sugar and salt into a large bowl.
Add the butter and incorporate it into the flour with your hands. If it has formed into crumbs, you can add the egg.
After combining everything, form the dough into two equal balls, cover it with cling wrap and place it in the fridge to rest, while you move onto the filling.
Pour the sugar into a pot and start warming it over low heat making sure to stir it continuously. Make certain that you don’t let the sugar accidentally spray onto your hands, as it can cause serious burns.
If the sugar has melted, add the walnuts, the honey and the whipping cream to it. Watch out so that the whipping cream doesn’t solidify the caramel! Stir it continuously, making sure that everything melts together and add some salt to it.
Take out the dough from the fridge. Roll out one of the dough balls and place it in your cake tin.
Fill it with the walnut caramel filling, then fold the hanging out parts of dough on top of it.
Roll out the other ball of dough as well, and place it on top of the cake. Then push the two sheets of dough into each other, completely encasing the filling.
Punch a fork through the top layer of dough and put it in the oven for 30 minutes at 355°F.
Let it rest for 10 minutes after taking it out of the oven. Then it’s ready to slice and serve!
