WATCH OUR VIDEOS and try out our recipes! Here’s a perfect and cosy dessert for autumn! This is our Filled Honey Slice! The combination of warm spices and the spread of jam with dried fruits will take you back to an autumn day.
Start by making the cake base. Mix together the sugar, egg yolk and butter until it is a bit frothy.
Stir in the honey, nutmeg, cinnamon and water.
Mix the flour with the baking soda, then add them to the egg mixture and create a ball of dough out of it.
Divide the ball of dough into three equal parts. Roll them out into the size of your baking tray and bake each one for 15 minutes at 355°F.
Layer the cake! Spread jam over the bottom layer, then place another cake layer on top of it.
Spread the remaining jam on top of the cake and sprinkle the nuts, dried fruit and raisins on it.
Lay the last cake layer on top, and place some sort of weight on it before letting it rest for at least 3 hours. It’s best though to let the cake rest overnight to allow it to soften.
Sprinle powdered sugar on top of it and it’s ready to serve!
