WATCH OUR VIDEOS and try out our recipes! We’ve brought you a soft and smooth cake which includes some flavourful plums. Our German Plum Cake is easy and effortless to make and is the perfect way of using this delicious fruit in a unique way during the plum season.
Create the cake batter. Sift the flour into a large bowl, then add the baking powder, a pinch of salt, sugar, soft butter, a bit of milk and one egg. Mix it well.
Pour the batter into a buttered pie tin, making sure that it’s evenly spread everywhere. Then place it aside.
Cut up the plums into thin slices after washing them well.
Place the slices of plum on top of the cake batter, forming circular rings.
Whisk the other egg together with milk and pour this on top of the cake.
Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over it.
Bake it for 30 minutes at 375°F.
Let it cool just a little before cutting it up into slices and it’s ready to serve!
