Hungarian bread pudding

Ingredients

  • 4 croissants
  • 3 tbsp apricot jam
  • For the milk layer:
  • 12 fl oz milk
  • grated peel of 1 lemon
  • grated peel of 1 orange
  • For the apple layer:
  • 10 oz apples
  • ½ oz sugar
  • juice of 1 orange
  • cinnamon to taste
  • For the cream:
  • 2 ½ oz sugar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ½ oz powdered sugar

  • Step 1

    Hungarian bread pudding recipe: Preparing the Hungarian bread pudding is simple! First, mix milk with grated orange and lemon zest, bring to a boil. Then, pour down the sliced croissants.

  • Step 2

    Beat egg whites with powdered sugar until thick, add to croissants.

  • Step 3

    Butter and sprinkle the pan with breadcrumbs, spread the croissant mixture.

  • Step 4

    Smear with apricot jam.

  • Step 5

    Braise onions for a while with sugar, orange juice and cinnamon.

    Place apple slices on jam.

    Bake at 340 degrees F for 30 minutes

  • Step 8

    Beat egg whites with sugar for the cream and spread on the cake.

    Bake for 5-10 minutes at 340-370 degrees F.
