Mix the flour together with the powdered sugar and baking powder. Then add the butter as well.

Add the sour cream and the egg yolks to the dough, incorporate everything well and form a ball of dough.

Cut off a quarter of the dough and place it in the freezer. This is what you will shave on top of the cake later on to give it the “ruffled” look.

Roll out the rest of the dough and place it in your baking pan, which is lined with baking paper.

Spread some apricot jam on top of the dough.

Whip up the egg whites and sugar until they form stiff peaks, then fold in the ground walnuts.

Spread the egg whites over the apricot jam.

Then take out the dough from the freezer and grate it on top of the egg whites.

Bake for 35 minutes at 355°F.

Wait until it cools before cutting it up and serving!
