Ingredients

For the dough:
5 oz butter
1/2 lb flour
5 oz powdered sugar
3 oz roasted hazelnuts
1 egg
1 tbsp vanilla sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp clove powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/3 oz baking powder
10 oz currant jam
For the icing:
1 whipped egg white
1 oz sliced almonds

Steps

Step 1
Linzer Cake recipe: Preparing the Linzer Cake is simple! First, combine butter and sugar.
Step 2
Add baking powder, flour, walnuts, eggs, lemon juice and the spices. Then knead thorough and let it stand for 30 minutes in a cold place.
Step 3
Cut out 1/4 part of the dough and put it away for now. Flatten the rest and put in a cake pan.
Step 4
Smear it with jam. Cut strips from the remaining dough and criss-cross the top as shown in the picture.
Step 5
Brush the top with egg, then sprinkle the edge with almonds. Bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees F.
