Gather your ingredients.

Peel and wash the potatoes. Cut them into small cubes, and boil them until tender. Drain in a colander and set it aside to let it cool slightly.

Cut the plums in half and remove the stone.

Add oil to a skillet and pour in the breadcrumbs. Over low heat roast the breadcrumbs until golden.

In a big bowl mix the flour and the baking powder, then add the egg, oil, salt and finally the water. Mix it well.

Add the sugar to the flour and mix it. Finally, add the boiled potatoes and mash it. Swiftly mix all the ingredients so you get a smooth dough.

You get a light dough. With a rolling pin start rolling out your dough on a heavily floured board about one-inch thick.

Cut squares/rectangles from the dough. The size depends on the size of the plums.

Place a halved, stoned plum in the middle of the squares.

Fold the edges inward and form small balls. Work quickly as the dough can easily become sticky. If that happens spread some oil on your hands.

Fill a large pot with water, add a tablespoon of oil and a pinch of salt. Bring it to boil and add the dumplings. Return to the boil. Cook until the dumplings began to float.

When the dumplings are floating remove them using a colander spoon. Place them into the breadcrumbs and give it a little shake to make sure the dumplings are fully coated.

Serve it with a sprinkle of cinnamon and sugar to taste.
